Julien Alfred winning the 100m race - the first for the island of Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia, the only country named after a historical woman, continues to shine on the global stage. Known for having the highest number of Nobel Laureates per capita and being the world's leading honeymoon destination for the sixth consecutive year, this island nation boasts 15 total wins to date.

Home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's only drive-in volcano, Saint Lucia now celebrates a new achievement as the birthplace of an Olympic champion and the fastest woman in the world.

With its first Olympic medal—a gold one—since debuting at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, this is a historic moment that we will celebrate and cherish for years to come. Congratulations, Julien Alfred—we are so proud of you!

We look forward to hosting this summit on the home soil of this gracious athlete, celebrating our heritage and future together.
