Marvio Arturo Cooks is an accomplished ICT professional and consultant with a passion for technology, community service, and youth development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Florida A&M University (FAMU). During his time at FAMU, Marvio founded the Tallahassee Gamers League (now Ghosteye Gamers League) and served as Vice President of the FAMU Video Game Club (VGC) in 2009. Under his leadership, the FAMU VGC evolved into an official esports club, which went on to compete in the 2021 MEAC Esports All-Star Team Collegiate National Championship. Marvio was also an active member of the Tal-Tech Alliance, a technology support group.
Since 2012, Marvio has worked as a game tester with VMC Studios, contributing to global testing teams for high-profile games such as Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs, ensuring their quality before release. His experience as a game tester includes working with teams of 20 to 100 testers, performing quality assurance and online multiplayer tests for upcoming triple-A video games.
Marvio's dedication to community service was exemplified in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in 2017. As a cabinet member in St. Maarten's Ministry of Public Health, Social Services, and Labor (Min. VSA), he played a pivotal role in coordinating relief efforts, distributing fresh water, and reconnecting families. His contributions were recognized in 2018 by the ‘Victory Over Injustice Constantly Eliminating Silence’ (VOICES) organization and by ‘I Change Nations’ (ICN), which awarded him the World Civility Award for "bringing back the lost art of honor."
He continues to serve his community through volunteer work, including clean-up efforts, sports, and initiatives that support young professionals.
